Online Karma Meditation Classes

We are planning to go ahead with our meditation class this coming Sunday,  March 29, 7:00 – 8:00 pm with Tracy. The class will be online. The cost for this class is $10 (GST included ). Part of the proceeds will be forwarded to Tracy and part to Siloam mission.
If you are interested please let us know by e-mail.

Once this is confirmed you can e-transfer the payment to our e-mail address and you will receive a Zoom link to a live class along with details.

The format of this class will include a warm up sequence, followed by seated or lying down meditation practice and relaxation.

Feel free to forward this invitation to friends and family.

The benefits of meditation especially during these surreal times are immeasurable to our well being. Hope you can join us to receive the benefits and support people in need at the same time.

Wear comfy, stretchy clothes to sit.  Doors will open at 6:30 pm.

Bring your yoga mat to the class.

Greetings from Yoga on Corydon

Time to announce a new session at Yoga on Corydon – March 1 to May 2nd. All existing classes will continue! You will find more information about class times and fees on our Early Spring Session and Tuition Fees pages.

There are still several events planned for February:

  • Hand to heart workshop Saturday, February 22, 1-3 pm with Diane, focusing on health of hands, fingers, wrists and shoulders using myofascial release, therapeutic movements and yoga poses.
  • Karma Meditation – Sunday, February 23, 7-8pm with Tracy, free class with optional donation for Siloam Mission.
  • Free Introductory ClassSaturday, February 29, 1-2 pm with Jana. Invite your friends and family for this introduction to yoga and the studio event.

Other exiting events at later dates include:

  • Saturday, March 21, 1-3 pm Self-Regulation Techniques and Yoga Practices for Mental Health
  • Saturday, June 13, 1-2:15 pm Free outdoor yoga class in Stafford/Harrow park
  • September 18-20,  Fall yoga retreat, in Whiteshell Provincial Park

Also, please note that we will be open on Lois Riel Day Monday, February 17th.

Moving into spring is a great time to reset your mind, your body and refresh yourself after the long winter through this wonderful practice. We are looking forward to making it happen!

Newsletter – December 3, 2019

Warm greetings from Yoga and Corydon . Happy Holidays and best wishes for 2020. May your new year be filled with love, laughter and happiness!

We are approaching the end of another year of great yoga experiences at the studio. Just to name a few – Yoga in the Assiniboine Park (little nerve racking weather-wise but rewording!), series of wonderful workshops (Myofascial Release, Yoga for shoulders neck and chest, Ayurveda), Karma meditation classes, our first ever Yoga retreat in Whiteshell Provincial Park and more.

It has been wonderful to have you in the classes and at the special events and we are looking forward to more in the new year.

Here is the update of the new session:

  • The studio will be closed from Tuesday, December 24 until Friday, December 27.
  • The new session will start on Saturday, December 28 and will go till February 29.
  • We will be closed on Tuesday, December 31 in the evening (6pm and 7:45pm classes will be cancelled) and on Wednesday, January 1 (all classes will be cancelled).
  • We will be open on Monday, February 17 (Louis Riel Day).

Free introductory classes for newcomers to the studio are planned for Saturday, January 4, 1-2pm and Saturday, February 29, 1-2pm

Special events planned for January and February are:

  • 3 pop up classes on Monday 7:45-9:15pm – Thai Massage and Yoga, January 6, 13 and 27
  • Workshop Saturday, January 25, 1-3pm, Building Bones
  • Workshop Saturday, February 22, 1-3pm, Hand To Heart

Karma Meditation Classes are free of charge with an option to give a donation for Siloam mission.  Sunday, January 26 and February 23, 7-8pm

Free Introductory Classes

Yin Yoga / Stretch & Relax – by Diane

YinYoga 1Diane’s Stretch & Relax classes feature a slow-paced style of yoga known as Yin Yoga.

The Yin yoga classes are scheduled throughout the week. Please go to Class Schedules to find the most suitable class for you.

Yin Yoga is a practice that targets the deep connective tissues of the body – ligaments, bones and joints.  Poses are typically held for minutes at a time and generally target the pelvis, hips and lower spine.  A regular Yin practice is a great balance to active yoga styles, regulating the flow of energy in the body, releasing tension and developing a greater range of motion in the body.
